When businesses evaluate CRM solutions, many factors are considered from functionality to user adaptability. But regardless of the main reason for looking at a new solution, all business ultimately will look at the cost as well. When comparing Microsoft CRM Online to SalesForce.com’s Enterprise version, the costs differences are staggering - $44 per month per user for Microsoft CRM vs. $125 per month per user for SalesForce. Beyond licensing, though, there are many other hidden costs with SalesForce that a business should consider:

Content  – SalesForce offers 1 GB of storage for your organization vs. 5 GB for Microsoft CRM. Should you need more storage, SalesForce will charge 2 to 3 times as much as Microsoft. Additionally, Microsoft CRM has built in integration to SharePoint allowing you to utilize an existing SharePoint site; SalesForce does not have built in integration to SharePoint.

Offline Capability – SalesForce has limited off line capabilities, and you need to pay extra to get that limited capability. Microsoft CRM Online gives users the ability to have a full copy of their CRM database locally via Outlook. Users can work on their Microsoft CRM database without an internet connection with no additional charges

User Training – While cloud technology is certainly the direction businesses are heading, there is no getting around the fact that for decades, Microsoft software has been the standard for businesses. Word, Excel, Outlook – these are tools people are familiar with and know how to use.  Microsoft CRM Online offers an end-user experience people are familiar and comfortable with, which lowers training costs and increases adoptability.

When evaluating the true cost of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SalesForce,  it is easy to see that Microsoft Dynamics CRM is the cost effective, more flexible, more powerful solution.
